Future skills

Inspire the next generation into the sector and ensuring our people have the opportunity to develop and grow with the business

To deliver our future business challenges, we need to attract and retain the best people and provide continuous support and training.

Young apprentices

Rewarding careers

We are committed to the development of our apprentices, trainees, graduates and sponsored degree students across the business. We've also partnered with the House Building Skills Partnership to promote careers in housebuilding, with a focus on attracting new entrants into the industry and on providing specialist training to develop the qualified workforce needed to construct today's high quality new homes.

Redrow bricklayers are building careers

Redrow leads the industry in developing the next generation of builders and skilled tradespeople. Our apprentices get first class training, both on site and alongside our training partners. We work with key suppliers to ensure they achieve a comprehensive understanding of the wider aspects of their chosen field. For example, Roe Brickwork, based in the South East, has been training apprentices for over 20 years and currently mentors apprentices on site.

Building partnerships

We are committed to a number of strategic partnerships across all our 14 divisions, supporting new entrants into the business with intermediate, advance and higher degree level qualifications. Redrow is a proud partner of the NHBC Bricklaying Hub located in various areas across the country as well as The SMB Group where our Carpentry Academy operates. The variety and level of training opportunities help embed classroom-based learning with additional skills, knowledge and behaviours for our construction and built environment students.

Redrow launches first ever housebuilding degree

In partnership with Liverpool John Moores University and Coleg Cambria we established the UK’s first dedicated Housebuilding Degree. The three-year degree gives students a full overview of housebuilding skills including quality, project management, health and safety, business skills and law. Learning is delivered through a blend of classroom activities, virtual learning, practical site visits and tutorials, meaning that learners will be able to combine their studies with working and earning.
