It’s a double celebration for Redrow at the housebuilding ‘Oscars’

11th December 2023

We have scored a brace of awards at the WhatHouse? Awards, considered the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry.

We were presented with the silver award in the Best Large Housebuilder category for the third year running, beating tough competition from larger developers, and just missing out on gold to The Hill Group.

Our Woodford Garden Village development in Cheshire – one of the largest redevelopment sites in the north of England – scooped a gold award in the Best Public Realm category.

Judges said: “Redrow has certainly embraced its three sustainable business pillars of ‘creating thriving communities, building responsibly and valuing people.’ Energy efficiency is an imperative and Redrow is leading the way at scale, with its gas-free ‘Eco-Electric’ homes – zero-carbon ready and well ahead of the Future Homes Standard, with air-source heat pumps and underfloor heating all part of the efficiency drive.

“Crucially, the customer does not get forgotten in the race to zero, assessing the benefits to and impacts on buyers at every eco turn, while recognising that demand for low-carbon homes is now ‘overwhelming’.

“Redrow quickly implemented the New Homes Quality Code, registering with the New Homes Quality Board, and customer service is a key business barometer, with its innovative homebuying platform My Redrow digitally leading the customer journey.”

Commenting on Redrow’s win in the Best Public Realm category for Woodford Garden Village, judges added that the development created “a sense of legacy and a sense of place in an incredibly competitive awards category.”

Matt Grayson Group Customer & Marketing Director said: “We’re pleased to have won silver at this year’s awards and to have been recognised in the highly competitive Best Large Housebuilder category for the past ten years running. In a challenging 12 months that’s seen us lead the industry in a roll-out of our Eco-Electric homes on all upcoming developments, and double down on our commitment to sustainability, biodiversity and customer service, it’s pleasing to receive this recognition.

“Our Woodford Garden Village development, which was awarded a gold for Best Public Realm, embodies our promise to provide a better way to live for our customers. It’s a prime example of our placemaking principles in action; a complete community with abundant green space at its heart, and a new pub, school and future community centre alongside our characterful Heritage Collection homes. Congratulations to all our north west team for all their hard work in delivering such a fantastic place for customer to live.”
